Welcome To Sociology Class!
In this class we look at and study the the social lives of humans, groups
and societies. We will examine how social rules and processes both bind
and separate people not only as individuals, but as members of associations,
groups, and institutions.
We will look at our behavior as social beings; this includes everything from how you react to
strangers you pass on the street or in a store, to how does society function as a world wide
process and what effect social norms, customs and ideas play in the growth and development
of the world as we know. Basically, how does what we believe, do, think, and act influence those around us and the world.
Be prepared to talk and listen. In this class there will be ALOT of discussion, but the major rule is that we all have the right to our opinions and
beliefs, BUT we will offer everyone in this class the same right. In other words, you may not agree with an opinion, but will give it respect as the opinion of another human being.
If you are absent, all assignments including homework, worksheets, test preps, videos link and anything done in class will be posted daily to the calendar on this site. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to use this calendar and site to get your work and stay up to date. If you have problems or need help, just ask me either in person on via email.
We will discuss how all this will work on day 1...See you soon
